Manifesto


As an official chapter, we follow the Urban Sketchers’ manifesto.

  1. We draw on location, indoors or out, capturing what we see from direct observation.
  2. Our drawings tell the story of our surroundings, the places we live and where we travel.
  3. Our drawings are a record of time and place.
  4. We are truthful to the scenes we witness.
  5. We use any kind of media and cherish our individual styles.
  6. We support each other and draw together.
  7. We share our drawings online.
  8. We show the world, one drawing at a time.

FAQs — USk Van Sketch Weekend 2025

  For those who signed up for USk Van Sketch Weekend 2025, here is the useful information you should know before the event! Q. Can I come only for my event? Is there anything more planned? You are welcome to join on both days of Sketch Weekend!  In the morning sessions, we have workshops and sketchcrawls with limited capacity. But afternoon sessions are open to all registered participants. They will be held indoors at Zameen Art House (on Granville Island) from 2pm-5pm on both days. There will be ample opportunities to hang out, listen to inspiring talks, chat with other sketchers, and look through each other’s sketchbooks - all the fun stuff! Q. Will I be able to speak with instructors and visiting Executive Board members? Yes! We made sure to designate some unstructured time for mingling every afternoon. What an exciting lineup we have! — USk Van Sketch Weekend 2025

  Urban Sketchers Vancouver and the Urban Sketchers Global Executive Board cordially invite you to join us in USk Van Sketch Weekend! The event will run between 5 to 6 April 2025! Event recap: Day 1 — USk Van Sketch Weekend 2025

On April 5 and 6, 2025, Urban Sketchers Vancouver hosted its inaugural Sketch Weekend on Granville Island in collaboration with the Urban Sketchers Executive Board . They selected Vancouver as the location for their annual in-person meeting in spring 2025 and suggested that the local team organize an event in the following weekend. We were so delighted to welcome them and to have this special opportunity to benefit from the global network of Urban Sketchers. The weather in Vancouver during early spring is quite unpredictable. The first day of  the event was, however, blessed with clear blue skies! After a few gloomy weeks, the sun finally showed and it made a perfect day for sketching.
