Let's meet and sketch at Italian Day Festival on The Drive!

After TWO YEARS, let's sketch together again at this beautiful street festival!

Italian Day will stretch out over 14 blocks and provide us with lots of “schizzo” (in Italian) or sketch opportunities. The Drive will come alive with piazza style animated zones, live music, food vendors, patio areas, fun activities and more.

If the crowds are too much, just slip into one of the many cafes or eateries along the street. You can also find old houses and pretty gardens, off on the side streets.

How to Get There:
There will be NO transit service along “the Drive,” so, you will need to -
- walk uphill from Clark Drive (#22 Knight bus),
- South from either Hastings Street #14 Hastings bus)
- or north from the Broadway SkyTrain Station (#9 Broadway, 99 B-Line buses or Expo Line SkyTrain).

Driving is NOT recommended.

Don’t forget a hat, water and your sketch supplies. A collapsible still would be a bonus.

FAQs — USk Van Sketch Weekend 2025

For those who signed up for USk Van Sketch Weekend 2025, here is the useful information you should know before the event! Q. Can I come only for my event? Is there anything more planned? You are welcome to join on both days of Sketch Weekend! In the morning sessions, we have workshops and sketchcrawls with limited capacity. But afternoon sessions are open to all registered participants. They will be held indoors at Zameen Art House (on Granville Island) from 2pm-5pm on both days. There will be ample opportunities to hang out, listen to inspiring talks, chat with other sketchers, and look through each other’s sketchbooks - all the fun stuff! Q. Will I be able to speak with instructors and visiting Executive Board members? Yes! We made sure to designate some unstructured time for mingling every afternoon. If you're new to Vancouver, Granville Island is the place to start with. It is home to galleries, theatres, boutiques, and craft/art supply shops, making it attract artists and creatives. Granville Island Public Market offers fresh local produce and artisanal foods that could feed you all day. The Island is surrounded by the stunning waterfront views. In USk Van Sketch Weekend 2025, most activities will happen on Granville Island. We're excited to show its diverse attractions to the global USk team and sketchers from outside Vancouver and have them sketch the vibrant island! You can draw the iconic Burrard Bridge with cute boats floating on the water, beyond which the downtown high-rises create a unique contrast with the mountains.
